BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is a campus university in the heart of the Lusatia region. With a dual focus on basic as well as applied research, BTU contributes significantly to the development and promotion of structural change in the transitional region of Lusatia.
Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes at the German Aerospace Center (DLR)
Research at the Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes at DLR focuses on the sustainable generation of process heat as well as alternatives for fossil fuels, with the aim of making production in key industrial sectors more environmentally friendly.
Fraunhofer Research Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Systems IEG
Formed in December 2019, the Cottbus-based Fraunhofer Research Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Systems IEG conducts research in the fields of integrated energy infrastructures, geothermal power and resources as well as sector coupling for a successful energy transition.
Competence Centre on Climate Change Mitigation in Energy-Intensive Industries (KEI)
The KEI provides support and funding for the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions to energy-intensive industries in Germany on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
