The "Decarbonisation in industry" fund within the framework of the Environmental Innovation Programme
The BMU is already funding projects for climate action in German industries. The "Decarbonisation in Industry" fund within the framework of the Environmental Innovation Programme supports measures for the sustainable reduction of industrial process emissions. Funding is provided for innovative projects that are well suited for demonstration purposes and hence for replication aiming for a far-reaching and lasting reduction of process-related greenhouse gas emissions in energy-intensive industries.

New BMU funding programme "Decarbonisation of Industry" to start from 2020
The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) is currently developing a new funding programme to support the transformation processes aiming at greenhouse gas neutrality in German industries. The funding targets investments in the field of energy-intensive industries to reduce process-related greenhouse gas emissions. The funding programme will commence in 2021.
As a department within the ZUG, KEI will assume the role of project executing agency for the funding programme and will be available as a contact partner for companies submitting applications. Together with the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) and the BMU, the KEI will process project applications and support project funding.
Further information on the funding program will be available here.
